“You are only as strong as the tools in your toolbox.”
– Michael Bastian
Whether it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, an eating disorder, or something else…
Individual therapy (sometimes called “counseling,” “talk therapy,” or “psychotherapy”) will be the toolbox you need to get you back on the path of feeling good.
And you’re going to need these tools, because like a leaky faucet, ignoring these issues will make life messier and harder to clean up.
Life can feel the same way sometimes: messy, disorganized, and hopeless. You can get back on top of it; though to get back in control, you’re going to need tools to help you do it.
How you organize your toolbox is up to you…
Organizing, like therapy itself, is a journey, not a destination.
We’ll begin by assessing the job at hand – looking closely at what’s going on in your life and thinking about what tools will help you get back on your path. We’ll see what we need to make the faucet tight and the floor dry!
I get to work with you in a safe, caring, and confidential environment in individual therapy. This is your opportunity to explore your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors.
I’ll help identify the areas of your life where you want to change, support you as you work through challenges, and celebrate with you as you reach your goals.
I’ll share my knowledge and experience with you on this journey, and you’ll be encouraged to grow. As a part of that, I might share with you resources like book excerpts or ask you to do small homework assignments or keep a journal.
Lastly, “Laughter is truly the best medicine.” I use humor in therapy – not to minimize issues but rather to break down barriers so we can take the journey together. It also allows you to release fears, anger, and stress, all of which can harm the body over time. Laughter improves the quality of life!
