What do you do in sessions?

In sessions, I’ll invite you to share what has been happening in your life. What’s going well. What may be bothering you. Essentially, what’s on your mind.

I will gather background information and help you set goals.

We’ll have conversations, and you’ll be able to say what you feel. You can be totally honest, without fear of being judged or hurting someone’s feelings.

It’s a safe space for talking about anything on your mind.

What modalities do you use?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Treatment that involves efforts to change thinking and behavior patterns.

Exposure Therapy: Exposing the patient to the anxiety source, in a safe way.

Family Based Therapy (FBT): Also known as the Maudsley method, this approach encourages parents’ active participation in their child’s recovery.

Humor Therapy: A way to break down barriers… because laughter truly is the best medicine.

Dogs or cats?

Either, but I have an amazing dog that acts like a co-therapist.

Milky Way or Snickers?

Either, because sometimes you feel like a nut, and that’s why you go to therapy.

Reading or writing?

Either, because sometimes I’ll suggest a book, and sometimes I’ll suggest journaling.

Puffs or Kleenex?

Both! You’ll need them. We will go deep to get to the tough issues on our journey together.
